Grecia, 10°sciopero generale. “Facciamo come a piazza Tahrir!”

Trasformare Syntagma in Piazza Tahrir…avendo camminato e vissuto momenti indimenticabili in entrambe quelle piazze, non posso non sentire un brivido incredibile attraversarmi. Più di due anni fa durante gli scontri di Atene era difficile immaginare un Mediterraneo in questa situazione; tornata ora da una settimana per le strade che hanno vissuto le “giornate della rabbia” di piazza Tahrir mi sembra un po’ più possibile di prima. Che qualcosa si possa veramente muovere: che ci sia il desiderio esplosivo di migliaia e migliaia di persone, soprattutto giovani e giovanissimi, che hanno voglia di dire la propria in questo mondo di merda, voglia di scegliere, di autodeterminarsi, di essere parte attiva della propria vita e di quella della storia che abbiamo tra le mani.
Oggi le strade della Grecia hanno vissuto il decimo sciopero generale dall’inizio della crisi economica, pochi mesi fa: si è fermato il traffico aereo, i trasporti urbani, marittimi e ferroviari, uffici pubblici, scuole, ospedali, negozi, banche. Il paese è fermo, a braccia conserte, ancora una volta e con la proposta di alcune componenti della sinistra greca parlamentare e non di non lasciare Syntagma, la piazza di fronte al parlamento greco, fino alle dimissioni di Papandreou, come in Egitto!
La manifestazione ad Atene è stata da subito imponente; una delle più grandi tra le tantissime di questi mesi e sicuramente una delle più variegate per sigle e livello di rabbia.

La testa ha raggiunto Syntagma quando la coda del corteo doveva ancora iniziare ad incolonnarsi. Subito dopo l’arrivo nella piazza simbolo della protesta, la polizia e i reparti speciali hanno fatto largo uso di gas lacrimogeni per disperdere la piazza dove erano confluiti il corteo indetto dai sindacati e massicci gruppi e componenti del movimento studentesco ed anarchico. Si contano una quarantina di arresti fino a questo momento e un ragazzo rimasto colpito seriamente da un lacrimogeni, trasferito con urgenza in ospedale. Le cariche a Alexandras Avenue si avvalgono di numerosi gruppi di poliziotti in motocicletta, come spesso abbiamo visto ad Atene.
Anche a Salonicco migliaia di persone sono scese in piazza già da mezzogiorno riempiendo le strade e trovandosi quasi subito ad affrontare gli attacchi della polizia che ha tentato più volte di spezzare il corteo con granate assordanti e molti lacrimogeni. Dopo un pesante numero di arresti, il commissariato di polizia di Ano Polis è stato attaccato con bottiglie moltov, mentre gli scontri proseguono sulla strada principale.
